Ocean Commotion

We started the week by reading "Commotion in the Ocean" by Ziles Andreae.  In this colorful story we read short poems about many different ocean creatures.  We then made paper plate fish and jelly fish.  While outside the children were engaged in activities such as water play  using sponge ocean creatures, kooshball bucket ball, beanbag games, and chalk drawings.  We also had a wonderful time playing" Dolphin,dolphin, SHARK!"

On Wednesday, we learned about fish by reading, " What's it like to be a Fish?".  During this story we learned about what fish eat and how fish breathe.  We enjoyed making sand art fish necklaces and singing " 5 Little Fish Swimming in the Sea".

As we finished our week, we read a familiar story about our clown fish friend, Nemo.  We made fish sun catchers, graphed our favorite ocean animals, and engaged in ocean life sponge painting.
