We will be opening our doors at 8:30 AM. Please try to have your child in camp by 9AM
for the start of circle time.
Dismissal
We will be opening the outside door at 12:25 PM. Please wait
in the hallway for us to open the classroom door at 12:30 for dismissal.Late Pick-Up Policy
We understand it may be hard to find a close parking spot and our pick-up time is during most company lunch hours, however after 12:35 PM you will have to pay a late fee. Starting at 12:35PM you will be charged $1.00 cash fee for every minute late.
Lunch Boxes
Each child should have one lunchbox with a snack and a lunch inside with an ice pack (if needed). Please make sure to have their name labeled on the outside of the lunch box. Please send in two juice boxes or one water bottle every day. Please be advised that the children will not be allowed to share food during meals and the Co-op does not provide food for the campers.
Appropriate Camp Clothing
Please send your child to camp wearing play clothes. We will at times do fun messy crafts, so please do not send your child to camp in special clothing. Shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, and sneakers (or sandals with ankle strap) are all appropriate for outdoor play. No flip flops. We will be engaged in active outdoor play each day! J
Extra Clothing
Each child needs to have a 1 gallon Ziploc bag with one pair of shorts, a shirt, socks, and underwear. When your child uses their extra set, please send in a new set the next day.
Please apply sunblock on your child before arriving at camp. We will not be applying sun block on the campers. We do recommend sun block with 50+ SPF.
Camp Blog
You will be able to view our daily activities on our camp blog. Please check our site frequently for additional information and summer fun pictures. Our camp blog is: http://maywoodcoopsummercamp.blogspot.com/
Show and Tell
Every day we will be taking turns with our special Show and Tell Back Pack. If your child receives the backpack please make sure to return it the following day. You can send in an item that is special to your child or something that relates to our weekly theme. Please do not allow your child to bring in any other toys/items from home unless they have received the backpack.
Behavior
Our camp implements the stop light behavior chart with three colors: green, yellow, and red. Every day the campers will start on green light. If a camper is having trouble obeying the camp rules, they will take a name stick and move it to yellow (to signify it is time to slow down and think about what they are doing). At that time the camper has the choice of sitting the quiet chair where he/she can look at books, squeeze a tension ball, hold a stuffed animal in order to calm down and think about their behavior. If the negative behavior persists, the child will then move to red light and at this time will sit in the quiet chair as many minutes as their age.
